IBE qualified as a Mandated Body
- Published on Wednesday, 14 December 2011 10:06
We are pleased to announce that on 12 December the European Commission has granted the Educational Research Institute the status of an Expert (Mandated Body) under the Twinning Initiative.
Becoming a Mandated Body means that an institution meets certain criteria, primarily substantive, referring to the expertise and experience in the areas covered by EU law, and subject to statutory activities at national and international markets.
.Twinning is a partnership between public institutions of donor countries and aid recipients. This instrument was initiated by the European Commission in 1998 under pre-accession strategy.
It consists in providing the country concerned with the experience of a country participating in the initiative, associated with the implementation of EU law, and also gives both the countries an opportunity to establish long-term cooperation. Twinning projects are mainly carried out by conducting specialized training in the recipient country and study visits in the institutions of the country providing the aid, according to rules set by the European Commission. The twinning program includes the Western Balkan states and the countries covered by the EU program of the European Neighbourhood Policy.
In Poland, the coordination of twinning projects is the responsibility of the Development Programmes Implementation Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which acts as the Administrative Office and the National Contact Point (National Contact Point, NCP).
