Education Economics Unit

Education Economics Unit conducts research and analytical work in the field of economic determinants of the education system. The Unit research focus is, in particular, the economic analysis of the effectiveness of education policies, including different ways of organizing and financing of the education system, the analysis of private and public expenditure incurred at different stages and in various forms of education and para-educational market analysis.
.The Unit research work is characterized by an interdisciplinary approach, variety of research methods and special focus on the practical dimension and relevance for the educational policy both at national and local levels. The Unit is developing a network of cooperation with scientific research centres specializing in economics of education in the country and around the world. Its activities aim at increasing interest in the economics of education among the scientific community in Poland. The members of the Unit not only actively participate in scientific events, but also organize workshops, seminars and conferences on economic aspects of the system of education and research in this area.
The leader of the Unit is Agnieszka Kopańska, PhD.
The Unit research supervisor is Urszula Sztandar-Sztanderska, Associate Professor of the University of Warsaw.
