The study "Legal Foundations of Teaching Profession in Poland" is being carried out by the Educational Research Institute in cooperation with the Ministry of National Education. The aim of the study is to obtain a clear picture of the current legal regulations regarding the professional status of teachers and their influence on the functioning of the educational system, and in particular to identify those factors which have a negative impact on the quality of education.

.

The study is being carried out using desk research (analysis of legal documents and data concerning promotions and disciplinary actions) as well as in-depth individual interviews (led by school principals, representatives of leading bodies, representatives of bodies which monitor teaching and teaching unions, among others).

Analysis of the legal regulations concerning the teaching profession in Poland and preparation of the report has been entrusted to an external expert.
