The aim of the study "Individualization of the Education Process in Early Education” is to evaluate the individualization programme of the Ministry of National Education, and in particular the effectiveness of funding, and the usefulness and effectiveness of activities undertaken as part of the programme.
.The ministry’s programme will be introduced in the years 2010-2013 and its beneficiaries are school-managing bodies. As part of the project activities may be funded, such as additional lessons to support individualized teaching, lessons for children with difficulties in mathematics, lessons with a speech therapist, socio-therapeutic and psycho-educational lessons, correctional gymnastics, specialized therapeutic lessons and lessons for developing the interests of gifted pupils, particularly in the areas of mathematics and science. Funding will also be available for necessary teaching materials and specialist equipment.
This is a qualitative study which will involve ten schools from rural and urban communities in five voivodeships where the ministry’s programme has been introduced. As part of the study, interviews will be conducted with school principals, coordinators of teams responsible for introducing the programme in schools and representatives of managing bodies. It is also anticipated that a mini-group will be created with teachers who are conducting lessons within the programme and focus group interviews with parents of pupils affected by the programme and with parents of those who are not.
The study is being conducted by Public Profits, an independent company selected by public tender.
